Generals take two from Sharks on Thursday
Long Beach 3 vs. Northeast 5 – In Game 1 on Thursday, the Generals fought back from a 2-0 deficit and got two goals from Sean Gorman as they beat the Sharks, 5-3. Long Beach took a 2-0 lead in the 1st period with goals from Spencer Sutera and Aleksandr Gamzatov. The Generals would respond for four straight goals to make it 4-2, including a pair of goals from Gorman and others from Deacon More and Carson Asper. The Sharks cut into the lead later in the 2nd period on a goal from Zan Mojzer to make it 4-3. However, late in the period a goal from Ben Pizzimenti would make it 5-3 and give the Generals a win after a scoreless 3rd period. Generals goalie Timothy Pesek made 18 saves in the win, while Long Beach goalie Artem Lantukh made 34 saves in the loss.
Northeast 10 vs. Long Beach 2 – In the Game 2 nightcap, the Generals got two goals apiece from Nicklaus Obourn, Ben Pizzimenti, and Tyler Kaminski as they beat the Sharks handily, 10-2. The Generals opened up a 3-0 lead with 1st period goals from James Clarke, Carson Asper, and Obourn. The Sharks made it 3-1 with a goal late in the period from Anderson O’Connor. The Generals put the game out of the reach in the 2nd period with four goals, including tallies from Kaminski, Pizzimenti, Nick Wracker, and Payton Felix. In the 3rd period, both Kaminski and Pizzimenti added their second goals of the game to cement the win. Zan Majzer had the other goal for the Sharks. Generals goalie Kyle McGuire made 22 saves in the win, while Long Beach goalie Greyson Skirpan made 57 saves in the loss.
