Saturday Scores: Jr. Blues sweep caps of busy night

St. Louis 4 @ Twin City 2 – It was another two-goal win and weekend road sweep for the Jr. Blues over the Steel. St. Louis led 2-0 on two goals from Andrew Kovacich. Jace Childs and Chase Myers-Beck scored for the Steel, but two additional Jr. Blues goals from Mike Lozano in the 2nd and 3rd periods put the game away. Boxscore

Cleveland 5 @ Pittsburgh 6 (OT) - The Pittsburgh Vengeance pulled out a 6-5 (OT) overtime victory over the Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks on a clutch goal by Nicholas Santiago. It was Santiago’s second goal of the game. Other Vegeance goal came from Brooks Antill, Gavin Cummings, Tyler Speis and Chris McCambrige. Jared Johnson had two goals and two assists to lead Cleveland. Stefan Horgas had three assists in the losing effort. Boxscore

Cincinnati 6 @ Battle Creek 1 - The Swords fired 57 shots on goal and got two goals apiece from Nikita Korotkov and Luke McCammant in a 6-1 win. Tanner Bennet and Andrew Bond also scored for Cincinnati. Andy Metzler had the lone goal for the Revolution. Boxscore

Metro 2 @ Toledo 3 – Toledo came from behind with three goals in the 3rd period to beat Metro, -3-2. Cooper McLean and Travis Baranoski gave Metro a 2-0 lead in the 2nd period. The Cherokee got goals in the 3rd period from Noah Szenderski, Zach Born and Blake Podgorski. The final two Toledo goals game with under a minute remaining in regulation. Boxscore

Dallas 4 @ Sugar Land 3 (SO) – The Imperials scored two 3rd period goals to force a shootout, but Dallas would get the only goal in the shootout as Brandon Salisbury was the only shooter to score in the 4-3 win. Stephen Smith, Alex Cyrenne and Tommy Stock scored for the Jr. Stars, while Yves Bader, Alex Tilman and Aksel Campbell scored for Sugar Land. Boxscore

Chicago 5 @ Wisconsin 4 (OT) – Daniel Marotz scored in overtime to give Chicago a road sweep of the Whalers. Luke Morin scored twice for the Jr. Bulldogs and Jarret Walt and Vince Bartkowiak also scored for Chicago. Whalers goals came from DJ Mussey, Connor Morgan, Mitch Riese and Kaleb Morley. Boxscore

Minnesota 0 @ Alexandria 8 – Kyle Miller made 30 saves for the shutout as the Blizzard blew past the Flying Aces, 8-0. Ian Ecklund had one of the better games of the year, scoring four goals and adding an assist. Bo Gronseth had four assists, Tim Schmidt had three assists and Drake Hunter scored twice for the Blizzard. Jaxson Gosnell made 29 saves in the loss. Boxscore

Breezy Point 2 @ Granite City 4 – The Lumberjacks scored the last three goals of the game to double up the North Stars, 4-2. Chris Hjorth and Blake Neumann had the goals for Breezy Point, while Zach Voss, Nick Haase, Aidan Verbeke and Christian Mohs scored for Granite City. Boxscore
