Texas defenseman Thiele gets call to the NAHL
The NA3HL’s Texas Brahmas are pleased to announce that defenseman Kurt Thiele has been called up to play in the NAHL for the Lone Star Brahmas for this weekend’s action.
“Kurt has been a difference maker for us all season on defense, as well contributed at a near point a game pace for us offensively," said Head Coach Al Rooney. “This is what we want to see for our players in this organization, opportunities to make a difference and move up.”
Thiele, 18, has previous NAHL experience, seeing action in a game earlier this season for Lone Star. With the Texas Brahmas this season in the NA3HL, Thiele (5'9/185) has played 23 games, scoring 17 points with a +10 rating while often matched up against the opponent’s top line.
“He’s a great player and an even better person, with an infectious attitude for the game both on and off the ice. Kurt’s more than deserving of this opportunity, he plays all 3 zones on the ice well and I’m expecting him to do good things for the Brahma’s at the NAHL level," added Rooney.
The Lone Star Brahmas travel to Amarillo to play a two-game set against the Bulls in South Division action this weekend.
