Peoria duo of Hayton and Peters make college commitments

The Peoria Mustangs of the NA3HL have announced that two players from this past year’s team have made college commitments. Goalie Marc Hayton has committed to play in the ACHA Division I for Illinois State University and defenseman Marc Peters has committed to play in the ACHA Division I for Adrian College.
Hayton, 20, spent the past two seasons playing for the Mustangs in the NA3HL. The native of Cumberland, Wisconsin, appeared in 21 games this season and posted a 9-8-3 record with a 2.88 goals against average and a 90.8% save percentage.
In 2013-14, Hayton (5’11/170) appeared in 29 games and posted a 18-10-1 record with a 3.20 goals against average and a 91.3% save percentage.
Hayton also appeared in eight NA3HL playoff games throughout his career. He is joining an Illinois State team that is making the jump to the ACHA Division I level beginning in the 2015-16 season.
Mustangs defenseman Marc Peters, 20, also just finished his second season with Peoria in the NA3HL. The native of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, recorded a career-high nine points this past season in 43 games played, which included three goals and six assists.
Peters (6’1/215) recorded three power play goals and also had one game-winning goal. He played in 38 games during the 2013-14 season and recorded four points. In his NA3HL career, Peters appeared in 81 regular season games and had 13 points. He also played in eight career playoff games.
Adrian finished ranked #10 in the final ACHA Division I rankings of the 2014-15 season.
