Jr. Blues goalie Young gets experience in NAHL
January 4, 2016
St. Louis Jr. Blues and NA3HL goaltender Zach Young earned NAHL experience over the holiday break, as he was called up by the Springfield Jr. Blues to serve as an emergency goaltender.
With regular goalie Niko della Maggiore injured, the Illinois club asked Young to serve as Tommy Nappier's backup in a crucial road series at the Minnesota Magicians.
The Robertsville, MO native has been a revelation in his first year with the St Louis Jr. Blues, posting a 14-3-2 record with a 2.46 goals-against average, a .918 save percentage and three shutouts. Young is currently tied for the NA3HL lead in goalkeeper wins.
