Quake, Jr. Predators win on Thursday

Yellowstone 6 @ Helena 3 – Three, 3rd period goals, including a hat-trick from Reed Kelly led the Yellowstone Quake to a 6-3 win in Helena on Thursday. Kelly scored twice in the 2nd period and once in the 3rd period. Other Quake goals came from Manuel Manero in the 1st period and Curtis Greenbush and Nicholas Elliot in the 3rd period.  Helena scored all three goals in the 2nd period, which came from Ryan Daugherty, Brandon Mills and Gavin Lubin. Quake goalie Garret Matz made 30 saves in the win, while Helena goalie Adam Ranck was busy in the loss, making 46 saves. Boxscore
 
Peoria 2 @ Nashville 3 – The Nashville Jr. Predators took sole possession of 2nd place in the Midwest Division with a 3-2 home win over the visiting Mustangs. Nashville took a 1-0 lead in the 1st period with a goal from Max Dorfman. Peoria tied the game at 1-1 in the 2nd period on a goal from Andrej Buchko. Nashville regained their one-goal lead with a tally from Michael Redmon. Early in the 3rd period, Peoria briefly tied the game at 2-2 with a shorthanded goal from Thomas Kolaz. However, Just :42 seconds later, Kyle Van Wyk netted the game-winner for the Jr. Preds. Ricky Gonzalez made 19 saves in the win, while Nic Piech made 24 saves in the loss. Boxscore
