Cape Cod forward Costello signs tender with Generals

April 8, 2016
The Cape Cod Islanders of the NA3HL (formerly the NA3EHL) are pleased to announce that forward Chuck Costello has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Northeast Generals.

The 6'1/180 lbs. Philadelphia, PA native was second on the team in scoring with 24 goals and 43 assists and a staggering +40 rating, earning him first team All League Honors. He played his best hockey when it counted and was a driving force behind the Islanders impressive playoff run this past season where he scored two goals and three assists in six games.

Costello also played on the NA3EHL East Division prospects team at the NA3HL Showcase.

"Chuck did a great job for us this past season," coach Jay Punsky said. "This is a great opportunity for him to advance his career.  We are confident that he will do everything he can to make that team."

The Northeast Generals were recently approved by the NAHL and they moved quickly to sign one of the top players in the NA3EHL.  Head coach Bryan Erikson had a first hand look at Costello all season and was behind the bench to coach him at the NA3HL Blaine Showcase in December.  "Chuck Costello is a heck of a hockey player, as impressive as he is on the ice, he's that much better of a person off the ice.  We are happy to give him this chance and see what he can do at the next level."

Chuck Costello stated, "This is a great opportunity for me and I'm excited to have the chance to make an impact at tryouts.  I know I have a lot of work to do and nothing is guaranteed but I will make sure I leave it all out there and make the Islanders proud."

The Islanders have now had six players advance to college/NAHL this season.  (Chuck Costello, Eric Szeker, Dan Moore, Mike Jessman, Aaron Deady and Clayton Pierce)
