Gillette forward King makes college commitment

The Gillette Wild, proud members of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL), are pleased to announce that captain and fourth year veteran Alex King has committed to play ACHA Division II hockey at the University of Utah in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). His commitment will begin in the 2016-17 season.
King, a 20-year-old Gillette, Wyoming native standing at 5-11 and weighing at 195 pounds, spent his first two years playing junior hockey in the American West Hockey League (AWHL) before the merger with the NA3HL in the summer of 2014, later becoming the Frontier division.
He then played his last two years in the NA3HL, racking up 157 points in his four years (79 goals and 79 assists) and finished with +30. King participated in the 2016 Top Prospects tournament tallying one assist for the undefeated Frontier division in the tournament.
The University of Utah has won three Wasatch Cup titles in the five years they have been in the PAC-8. In the 2015-16 season, the Utes finished second in the ACHA ranking. The will be moving to the ACHA Division I level for the 2016-17 season.
