Pittsburgh goalie De Simone selected for Swiss National team

April 25, 2017
The Pittsburgh Vengeance of the NA3HL would like to announce and congratulate goaltender Joel De Simone on being selected for the Swiss U20 National team.

De Simone, 18, posted a 19-7-1 record to go along with a 1.89 goals against average and .935 save percentage in 27 regular season appearances with the Vengeance this past season.

De Simone (6’1/175) also posted a 3-1-2 playoff record with a 1.78 goals against average and .953 save percentage to lead Pittsburgh within a game of the Silver Cup in the East Division Finals.

De Simone was also selected to and played in the 2017 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament.

Earlier this season, he signed an NAHL tender agreement to play in the NAHL for the 2017-18 season for the Johnstown Tomahawks.

“In my opinion, Joel was one of the best goalies in the NA3HL and that's saying something because there were quite a few good ones in our league," said Head Coach & General Manager David Dorsey.
