Long Beach duo of Taffo and Garcia make NCAA commitments

The Long Beach Sharks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that two players have made NCAA commitments.
 
Forward Carmine Taffo, 20, has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Trine University and defenseman Phil Garcia, 20, has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Finlandia University.
 
Taffo (5’8/177) just completed his final season of junior hockey with the Sharks. The native of Staten Island, New York, had a very good season on this ice, finishing 3rd in team scoring this past season with 73 points (30 goals, 43 assists) in just 46 regular season games. Taffo also record 8 points in 8 playoff games for the Coastal Division Champion Sharks.
 
Garcia (5’8/180) also just finished his final season of junior hockey. The native of Brooklyn, New York recorded 30 points in 44 regular season games from the blueline. Garcia also recorded two points in 8 playoff games. He was also selected to and played in the 2017 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for Team Gold.
 
Taffo and Garcia are the first two players from this past year’s Sharks team to make college commitments.
