Helena forward Heddle makes college commitment

The Helena Bighorns of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward John Heddle, 20, has committed to play ACHA Division I hockey at University of Central Oklahoma. The UCO Bronchos were crowned the ACHA Division I National Champions this past season.
“I picked the University of Central Oklahoma because of their continued success with winning the (ACHA) DI National Championship two of the last three years,” said Heddle. “UCO also offers everything I need to get a great education.”
Heddle (5’8/180) finished his 2016-17 campaign with the Bighorns with 44 points in 33 games, which ranked 2nd on the team in scoring during the regular season. He also led all Bighorns in scoring average during the playoffs with a 1.67 points/game.
In two seasons with the Bighorns in the NA3HL, the native of Stillwater, Minnesota, played in 51 career regular season games and recorded 52 points.
Prior to playing in the NA3HL, Heddle played high school hockey for Stillwater High School in Minnesota.
