November 20, 2017
The Skylands Junior Kings of the NA3HL are proud to announce that captain and forward Craig Garrigan will be representing Great Britain at the IIHF World U20’s Division 2A Championships in Dumfries, Scotland on December 5th through the 16th, 2017, under head coach, Slava Koulikov.
The six-team IIHF Division 2 Group A tournament will be played at the Dumfries Ice Bowl. Great Britain will come up against Estonia, Japan, Korea, Netherlands and Romania as they look to secure promotion back to Division 1 of the World Championship structure.
“The coaching staff had to make some tough decisions to name this squad. It proves that we have great depth and some great prospects in the GB program. I am very happy with the squad but some quality players have not made the final roster. I think we have a well-balanced squad and competition for places was really fierce. We will now undergo our final preparations for the tournament," said Koulikov.
Kings head coach Adam Mitchell remarked, “Craig is extremely deserving, shows his passion and work ethic everyday on and off the ice. He continues to be a leader and great team-mate. This is a great opportunity for him to display his talents, gain experience at an international level. As a coaching staff, we are not surprised for Craig to get this honor, and we wish him luck and look forward to watching him succeed.”
“We are extremely proud of Craig’s accomplishments on and off the ice since he joined us in 2016, and are certain he will represent well in the international tournament," added GM Rita Mitchell.
