Texas forward Cote makes NCAA commitment

May 2, 2018
The Texas Brahmas of the NA3HL are pleased to announce forward Kyle Cote has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Lake Forest College for the 2018-19 season.

In his first season of junior hockey, Cote didn’t take long to make the adjustment from the NAPHL. The Shattuck St. Mary’s alum was a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the ice. Cote finished second on the team in scoring during the regular season with 24 goals and 40 assists, then tacked on another six goals and six assists during the Brahmas’ postseason run.

"Kyle was a offensive force for us this past season. His skating ability plus his scoring touch separated him to be one of the top forwards in our league,” Head Coach Michael Hill said. "He came in with a goal to play collegiate hockey and we are so proud of him to be a part of the Lake Forest squad next season. The NCHA conference is one of the most elite in NCAA D3 and Kyle has a great opportunity to make a difference for the Foresters next season.”

Quick on his skates with hands to match, Cote was certainly a player to keep an eye on. He posted 20 multi-point games this season, including three five-point performances. His overall game grew tremendously over the year and he was an asset to the Brahmas roster from start to finish.

Cote also spent time with the NAHL Lone Star Brahmas squad in the fall and becomes the third Brahma from this year's roster to commit to an NCAA program.
