North Iowa defenseman Studioso makes college commitment
May 8, 2018
The North Iowa Bulls of the NA3HL are proud to announce their second commitment to the Arizona State University ACHA Division I program in as many years, with John Studioso's commitment to Sun Devil hockey.
Studioso joins a group of nearly 70 Bulls players who have committed to college programs in the team's seven years as a member of the North American 3 Hockey League, including seven who eventually earned spots on NCAA Division I rosters.
Studioso played for the Everett Jr. Silvertips of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) before joining the Bulls for three games in December of last year. After tallying three points in those three games, the Edmonds, Washington native joined the Bulls full-time in late January, adding six more regular-season points, plus a goal and an assist in the Fraser Cup playoffs.
Studioso will join former North Iowa standout Owen Larson on the ice for Arizona State, who made an immediate impact this past season with 31 points in his first 23 games as a college athlete. He's also the second member of the Studioso family this season to make a commitment for the 2018-19 season, after cousin and Bulls teammate Brendan Studioso's NAHL tender with the Minnesota Wilderness.
The North Iowa Bulls congratulate John Studioso on his commitment to Arizona State and wish him the best as he takes this next step in his academic and athletic endeavors.
