Oswego forward Wallace makes college commitment

May 30, 2018
The Oswego Stampede of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that four-year player and forward Josh Wallace has committed to attend and play ACHA Division I hockey at Eastern Michigan University next fall. Wallace, who has the longest tenure with the Stampede in its eight year history will be the forth player from the program to attend EMU.

EMU Head Coach, Jordan Roemer added the following release pertaining to the signing. "I am extremely happy to bring in Josh. He is a player that will come in and compete for playing time right away and drive the competition up in practice, off ice and games. Josh takes a lot of pride in the little aspects of the game that help teams win and that is exactly what we were looking for when recruiting Josh."

"I have an extremely close relationship with Oswego coach Kyle Althen. When I make the phone call at the start of any season and ask him what players he thinks I should take a look at and can contribute at our level I trust him 100%. I have now brought in 4 players in two years that have played for Kyle and each of them has come in ready to compete and with a tremendous work ethic," Roemer continued.

In his four-year career with the Stampede in the NA3HL/NA3EHL, Wallace recorded 64 points in 163 career regular season games.

Wallace will join former captains Hunter Soden and Oscar Lande along with Tucker Bartenslager next fall at EMU and the entire staff of the Stampede wish him all the best.

"Josh and his parents have been a big part of the Stampede over the past four seasons and I am so proud of Josh for his efforts in reaching the next level of play and attending a very good school. I will miss working with him as well as seeing his parents Jen and Pat during the season, I guess they have become family. I would also like to thank Coach Althen on his efforts with Josh and all of our players," added Stampede GM and coach Mike Beavis.

The Stampede will be adding news articles featuring all of their new players for the 2018-2019 season in the near future and are very excited about their returning players as well as the recently signed new recruits.
