June 1, 2018
The Texas Brahmas of the NA3HL are proud to announce two ACHA Division I college commitments. Defenseman Jimmy Brown has committed to the University of Arizona and forward Adam Shimamoto has committed to play for Iowa State University.
Brown, 19, just completed his first season playing junior hockey in the NA3HL for the Brahmas. The 6’5/170 lbs. native of Phoenix, Arizona, had 11 points in 21 games played during the 2017-18 regular season.
"Jimmy is a big-bodied defensemen who takes pride in his work in the d-zone. He is a locker room guy. He works hard on and off the ice. Jimmy reported day one despite having had a surgery that kept him out until the Showcase. He is the ultimate team guy,” said Head Coach Michael Hill. Brown has an NHL pedigree with his father having played for the LA Kings in the 1979.
Shimamoto, 20, had a good first season in the NA3HL for the Brahmas. The 5’7/140 lbs. native of Thornton, Colorado, had 24 points in 39 games played during the 2017-18 regular season.
"We are very proud of Adam. He joined us as a veteran junior hockey player and was consistent throughout the year accepting any role and making timely contributions, while playing 200 feet. Adam will do very well academically and on the ice for Iowa State,” Head Coach Michael Hill said.
