March 23, 2011

The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed undrafted free agent goaltender Pat Nagle, who played in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with the St. Louis Bandits during the 2006-07 season, to a two-year entry-level contract.

Nagle, 6-foot-3, 185 pounds, played in 37 games with Ferris State University (CCHA) this season, posting an 18-14-5 record to compliment a 2.02 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage.

The Bloomfield, Mich., native ranked fifth among all Division I goaltenders in goals-against average, tied for ninth for shutouts with three and tied for 10th in save percentage. Nagle also set school records for goals-against average and tied for second in save percentage.

Nagle, who was named to the All-CCHA First Team this season, played in 101 career games with Ferris State from 2007-10. During that time, he recorded a 2.32 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage with a 45-42-11 record including five shutouts.

In St. Louis, Nagle won a Robertson Cup playing under Norfolk Admirals head coach Jon Cooper. The Admirals are the Lightning's AAA affiliate.
