The Chicago Hitmen was crowned the North American 3 Hockey League's (NA3HL) Hurster Cup champions after blanking the Queen City Steam in the championship game, 4-0, on Sunday in Toledo, Ohio.
With the win, the Hitmen earns the NA3HL's second berth to the USA Hockey Tier III Junior A National Tournament, which will take place from April 1-4 in Rochester, Minn.
The St. Louis Jr. Blues, the defending national champions, earned the NA3HL’s first berth to this year’s national tournament by virtue of their regular-season championship.
Hitmen goaltender Nicholas Kohn stopped all 19 shots he faced and forward Anthony Domico came alive for two goals, including the game-winner, and a pair of assists in the championship game. Forward Matthew Spica and defenseman Joseph Spitzer scored the other Chicago goals.

At the Hurster Cup Finals, which ran from March 24-27, the four participating teams - Hitmen, Steam, Quad City Jr. Flames and Peoria Mustangs - played a three-game round robin from March 24-26. The top two teams at the conclusion of the round robin (most points) - the Hitmen and Steam - advanced to the Hurster Cup championship game.
