NAHL announces All-Rookie Teams

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced its All-Rookie Teams for the 2010-11 season, as selected by the league’s coaches and general managers.

NAHL All-Rookie First Team

Forward: Justin Hussar, Topeka RoadRunners
Forward: Dakota Klecha, Wichita Falls Wildcats
Forward: Cory Ward, Aberdeen Wings
Defenseman: Karl Beckman, Amarillo Bulls
Defenseman: Ryan Trenz, Michigan Warriors
Goaltender: Tom Comunale, St. Louis Bandits

NAHL All-Rookie Second Team

Forward: Brian Christie, Topeka RoadRunners
Forward: Gabe Levin, Fairbanks Ice Dogs
Forward: Dakota Mason, Dawson Creek Rage
Defenseman: Paul LaDue, Alexandria Blizzard
Defenseman: Donald Olivieri, Bismarck Bobcats
Goaltender: Jimmy Krueger, Texas Tornado

NAHL players in their first year of Junior A hockey are considered rookies.

The All-NAHL Team, Forward of the Year, Defenseman of the Year, Goaltender of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, General Manager of the Year and Organization of the Year, along with the Academic Achievement Award, Dick’s Sporting Goods Community Service Awards and Mark Messier Leadership Award winners, will be announced at the Robertson Cup Championship Tournament banquet, which will be held on May 2 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka, Kan.

The Robertson Cup Championship Tournament will be held from May 3-7 at Topeka's Kansas Expocentre.
