Are you ready for some hockey?

The North Iowa Bulls are definitely looking forward to getting the season started.

“Absolutely,” North Iowa coach Todd Sanden said Monday at a meet and greet for the players and families at the Salvation Army. “We can’t wait to get on the ice.

“We start (practice) Wednesday in Albert Lea (Minn.) and have some meetings (today). We’re very excited.”

The Bulls, a Tier 3 team in the NA3HL, will open play this fall at the North Iowa Ice Arena and will be a feeder program for teams in the NAHL, which the North Iowa Outlaws were a part of.

The Bulls have a scrimmage Thursday against the Austin Bruins of the NAHL, at the Albert Lea Ice Arena at 2:45 p.m. and run to about 3:30 p.m.

The scrimmage is open to the public with no charge.

The Bulls open the regular season at the Combat Hockey/NAHL Showcase Sept. 15-17 in Blaine, Minn.

The Bulls faces Chicago at 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 in their initial contest.
