Brahmas, Generals, and Bighorns win on Sunday to stay perfect

Tyler Ramm was the only one of 10 shooters to score in a shootout as Northeast edged Long Beach on Sunday, 3-2.

TX Brahmas 6 @ Austin 0 – The Brahmas stayed perfect for the season as they shutout the Austin Ice Bats 6-0 on Sunday to complete a three-game weekend road sweep. Dolan Gilbert stopped all 18 shots that came his way in the win. Texas put the game away early, which included four goals in the 1st period, including a hat-trick from Elijah Roofe and a goal from Jeremiah Snyder. In the 2nd period, Benjamin Mondou and Micah Maldonado added goals to complete the scoring. Austin goalie Brandon Shantz made 70 saves in the loss.

Helena 4 @ Great Falls 2 – The Bighorns moved their record to a perfect 17-0 on the season as they came from behind to beat the Americans on Sunday, 4-2. Great Falls led 2-1 after two period with goals from Thomas Dalsin and Daniel Crutcher, while Harlan Wojtusik scored for Helena. In the 3rd period, the Bighorns seized control with thre goals from Tyler Alldrege, Adam Harvey and Corbin Skinner. Eric Buchholz made 19 saves in the win, while Will Simpson made 34 saves in the loss.

Long Beach 2 @ Northeast 3 (SO) – The Generals were pushed to the limit, but maintained their perfect record on the season as they edged the Long Beach Sharks, 3-2 in a shootout. The teams traded goals in the opening two period as Payton Felix and Caiden Hess scored for the Generals, with Max Rotsaert and Hayden Doggett answering for the Sharks. In the shootout, it took ten combined shooters for someone to finally score, but Tyler Ramm would end up the hero as they only player to light the lamp for the extra point and win. D’Mar McCoy made 25 saves in the win, while Greyson Skirpan made 49 saves in the loss.

TX RoadRunners 5 @ Mid Cities 3 – The RoadRunners completed a three-game sweep of the Stars with a 5-3 win on Sunday. Tim Marsico had a hat-trick, which included a goal in the 1st period and two goals in the 3rd period. Derek Boutin and Samuel Bourdon also had goals in the RoadRunners win. Mid Cities got goals from Isaac Fuller, Michael Kennedy, and Ilnur Madiarov in the losing effort. Nash Wilson made 14 saves in the win, while Quillon Bowman made 39 saves in the loss.

Alexandria 5 @ Mason City 2 – The Blizzard salvaged a weekend split with the Toros thanks to a 5-2 win on Sunday. Five different players scored for the Blizzard, who jumped out to a 3-0 lead with goals from Ethan Moerke, Cole Klingbeil, and Matt McIntyre. The Toros cut the lead down to 3-2 late in the 2nd period with goals from Sota Isogai and Cullen Hogan, but 3rd period goals from Zach DeMarce and Michael Debrito secured the win for Alexandria. Bailey Rosch made 22 saves in the win, while Erik Chaffe made 30 saves in the loss.

Louisiana 2 @ El Paso 5 – Peyton Brendel made 30 saves to lead the Rhinos to their fifth straight win as they completed a three-game home sweep of the Drillers with a 5-2 win on Sunday. After the Drillers opened the scoring early thanks to a goal from Martins Leps, the Rhinos answered with three straight goals from Caden Butler, Noah Easterson, and Lou Caulfield. The Drillers made it 3-2 early in the 3rd period thanks to a goal from Anderson O’Connor, but goals later in the period from El Paso’s Zachary Ware and Riley Hunt-Bahn secured the win. Drillers goalie Evan Wittchow made 31 saves in the loss.
