Northeast forward Ramm signs NAHL tender

November 17, 2021

The Northeast Generals of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are pleased to announce that forward Tyler Ramm has signed a North American Hockey League tender agreement with the Northeast Generals NAHL team of the East Division.

Ramm, 18m has taken a step forward at the NA3HL level and has played well enough to earn a tender from the NAHL group for next season.  The NA3HL Generals sit at 13-0 in mid November and Ramm has been a huge factor.  The 6’1/195 lbs. native of Westborough, MA, has amassed 5 goals and 4 assists for 9 points in his 12 games played. Recently, he scored the game-winning goal in a shootout vs. the Long Beach Sharks to help the Generals remain perfect.

“Tyler is an amazing young man.  He came close to making the NAHL team this year, but he has some things in his game we still want to work on. He has trusted the process and we know there is nobody better than Darryl Locke to help him improve and Tyler has done that.  He has lengthened his stride, gotten faster, he has become more physical and has become a trusted center than can lock an opponent down for 200 feet.  He is very deserving of this tender and we look forward to seeing his progress and can’t wait for him to get to the NA Generals,” said NAHL Head Coach Bryan Erikson.

“I think the main thing for Tyler was getting him back to being the dominant power forward he was at the U16 level a couple of years ago. He dominated in all aspects of the game at that age group. He had long powerful strides, played physical, and had an absolute cannon of a shot. Last year I don’t think was a down year for him at the U18 level, but he wasn’t as dominant as he wanted to be. Sometimes a player needs time to adjust to playing against older players. Some players adjust quickly on the fly and others take some time,” said Generals NA3HL head coach Daryll Locke.

“Going into The NAHL Camp I thought he was starting to show flashes of dominance again but just not consistently enough to push himself into a roster spot. Coach Erikson wanted him to come down to the NA3HL Team to work on his physical play, and rediscover his powerful skating stride. The last 3 or 4 games he’s been as dominant as I’ve ever seen him. He’s using his size and strength to his advantage and he’s cashing in on his offensive opportunities. Really proud of the way he’s handled himself and gone about his business everyday at the rink. He’s a great kid and extremely coachable. In my opinion it won’t be long before there’s a bidding war for his services at both collegiate levels,” concluded Locke.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2022 NAHL Draft.
