Sunday Wrap-Up: Generals win regular season crown on final day

With three assists in a win on Sunday, Oklahoma City forward Robby Rabroker captured the NA3HL scoring title for the 2021-22 regular season with 92 points.

Norwich 0 @ Northeast 5 - The Generals captured the NA3HL overall regular season title with a 5-0 shutout of the Sea Captains as Tyler Ramm scored twice and D’Mar McCoy made 25 saves in his fourth shutout of the season. Ramm scored both his goals in the 1st period and Nolan Muprhy also scored to put Northeast ahead 3-0 after one period. Goals from Matthew Nuzzolilo and Sean Gorman in the 2nd period completed the scoring and win. Andrew Yocum took the loss in goal for Norwich, making 28 saves.

Austin 2 @ Oklahoma City 11 – The Ice Hawks finished in 2nd place in the South thanks to their 11-2 win over Austin on Sunday. Noah Henslee and Richard Indermill each had a hat-trick and Robby Rabroker had three assists to finish the season with 92 points and capture the NA3HL’s scoring title. Indermill, along with goals from Jakob Holley and Aaron Best scored in the 1st period. Tyler Larsen, Lucas Helland and Indermill scored in the 2nd period and Henslee would add three in the 3rd period, along with Indermill’s third goal and another from Helland. Ice Bats goals came from Jaidin Hicke and Jaylen Medez. Andrew Owens made 14 saves in the win, while Sebastian Skarzenski made 39 saves in the loss.

Bay State 4 @ Long Beach 5 – Five different players scored for the Sharks in a 5-4 win in their regular season finale. Bay State led 3-1 in the 2nd period with two goals from Damon Warren and another from Matt Schirm, while Evan Richards scored for the Sharks. The Sharks then scored four straight goals to take a 5-3 lead as Kyle Gilbert, Hayden Doggett, Logan Plante, and Max Rotsaert all scored. Another goal from Schirm late in the 3rd period cut the lead down to 5-4, but the Bobcats could not equalize. Steven Squillante made 29 saves in the win, while Braeden Bovey made 47 saves in the loss.

Mid Cities 1 @ El Paso 12 – The Rhinos finished in 3rd place in the South thanks to a 12-1 win over the Stars. Jaxon Penner had a hat-trick and two assists in the win. It was all Rhinos from the opening face-off as they took a 4-0 lead in the 1st period with goals from Connor Thompson, Tristen Elmhurst, Jack Olson and Daniel Cullar. Penner added two goals in the 2nd period and Landon Albrecht also scored a pair of goals and Lou Caulfield also scored in a five-goal 2nd period. Penner added his third in the 3rd period and Colin Clough and Matthew Barnes also added 3rd period goals. Ilnur Madiarov had the lone goal in the Mid Cities loss. Peyton Brendel made 20 saves in the win, while Adler Hoagland made 31 saves in the loss.

TX RoadRunners 6 @ Louisiana 7 – The Drillers played spoilers as they came from behind to beat the RoadRunners 7-6 in the final regular season game for both teams. Matthew Edstrand and Derek Boutin each had a pair of goals and Tyler Love and Dominic Mangiapane also scored for the RoadRunners, who had leads of 2-0, 3-1 and 5-3, but could not hang on. Josh Hrip scored twice for the Drillers, which included the game-winner with under two minutes remaining. Hrip, Mason Wilbur, and Anderson O’Connor had 1st period goals. Mark Kurliandchyk and Aidan Fontenot scored in the 2nd period and Jack Lambert and Hrip scored late in the 3rd period. Brandon Keeney made 28 saves in the win, and Alexander Opalacz made 40 saves in the loss.
