Sunday Wrap-Up: Danbury stuns Generals in overtime

Danbury 4 @ Northeast 3 (OT) – Denis Radchenko had two goals, including the OT-winner as the Jr. Hat Tricks knocked off the Generals, 4-3. Danbury scored first on a goal from Roman Winicki. The Generals took a 2-1 lead later in the 1st period on goals from Cody Lambert and Caiden Hess. Danbury tied the game in the 2nd period on Radchenko’s first goal. Northeast regained the lead later in the period on a goal from John Dicio. In the 3rd period, Danbury tied the game on a goal from Reese Tamburo. Radchenko’s game-winner came on the power play 1:49 into overtime. Ryan Maguire made 49 saves in the win, while Luke Fundator made 19 saves in the loss.

New Mexico 9 @ Austin 0 - The Ice Wolves swept a three-game goal set against the Ice Bats thanks to a 9-0 win on Sunday. Zak Wentworth and Braeden Whitesell had two goals apiece and Ethan Secord had a four-point game. Whitesell and Wentworth each scored twice in the 1st period to put New Mexico ahead 4-0. In the 2nd period, Stanley Hubbard netted his first career NA3HL goal, which came shorthanded for a 5-0 lead. In the 3rd period, goals from Secord, Jaden Stiller, Evan Axell, and Max Chagovets completed the 9-0 win. Ice Wolves goalie Krzysztof Jakubowski made 13 saves in the shutout win.

Long Beach 1 @ Bay State 2 (OT) – AJ Cooper made 33 saves to lead the Bobcats to a 2-1 overtime win over the Sharks. After a scoreless 1st period, Bay State took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd period thanks to a goal from Jake Rossignol. In the 3rd period, the Sharks tied the game with their lone goal from Henry Slager. In overtime, it took the Bobcats less than a minute to net the game-winner as Landen Schoonover scored his 6th goal of the season. Ryo Murakami made 43 saves in the loss.

Mid Cities 0 @ TX Brahmas 3 – The Brahmas won their 7th straight game as they won all three games of a weekend set against the Stars thanks to a 3-0 win on Sunday. The Brahmas scored a goal in each of the three periods as Wyatt Witham scored in the 1st period, then added another goal in the 2nd period, and Alexander Cagan completed the scoring with a power play goal in the 3rd period. Alexander Croy made 25 for his first shutout of the season. Cole Eckert made 48 saves in the loss.

Willmar 3 @ Mason City 4 – Four different players scored for the Toros as they fought off two comeback attempts from the WarHawks to pick up a 4-3 win on Sunday. Mason City took a 2-0 lead with goals from Jordan Newpower and Hayden Siegel. Willmar tied the game at 2-2 in the 2nd period with goals from Gunnar Sibley and Connor Garcia. Mason City regained a lead at 3-2 with a goal from Luke Robertson late in the 2nd period. In the 3rd period, Willmar tied the game again as a goal from Owen Johnston made it 3-3. Later in the 3rd period, the game-winner came from Dylan Duckson. Toros goalie Connor Graham made 22 saves in the win, while Zack Ortolano made 35 saves in the loss.
