NA3HL Weekend Preview
This weekend in the NA3HL features a jam-packed schedule of 36 games from Friday through Sunday, with plenty of intriguing match-ups.
The tender signing period is underway in the NAHL and NA3HL players has already been tendered. There have also been several players call up this week to play in NAHL games
The NA3HL Showcase is just over a month away and takes place from December 18-20 in Blaine, MN. The 2022 NA3HL Showcase schedule will be released on Thursday, December 1st and will pair up evenly matched teams against one another based on the current standings and is also designed to have cross-divisional games with balanced competition.
This weekend has full action in the West Division, with all six teams in action as everyone is chasing Granite City, who will face rival Mason City. It is also a full slate in the Frontier as Gillette is still leading the pack with a 14-1-1 record. All six teams are in action in the Central as Rochester, Oregon, and Peoria enter the weekend on extended winning streaks. Danbury and Norwich are both in action as they chase division-leading Northeast. In the South, New Mexico has their home-opening weekend which begins a 16-game home stand. The other series has the Brahmas in Louisiana with both teams riding extended winning streaks.
Earlier this month, the NAHL announced a new affiliate program with the NA3HL. Beginning this season, NAHL teams may name up to three NA3HL Affiliates and use them throughout the season without having to manage through a lot of roster disruptions. An NA3HL Affiliate is a player of extreme interest to an NAHL team and allows the NA3HL player the opportunity for more flexibility when he gets a call to compete in the NAHL. The program is in addition to the already in place and successful NA3HL Play and Practice Program, which promotes the opportunity for players in the NA3HL to get the chance to practice with NAHL teams.
