Granite City forward Cayemberg gets call to the NAHL

December 9, 2011

The Granite City Lumberjacks of the 3HL have announced that forward Tyler Cayemberg has been traded to the Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).  Cayemberg is expected to make his debute with Odessa this weekend as they play host to the Wenatchee Wild on Friday and Saturday.  Odessa currently sits in the 4th and final playoff spot in the South Division standings.

Cayemberg, 19, is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and according to Lumberjacks head coach Brad Willner, he was noticed by Odessa at this past week's 3HL Showcase in Darien, Illinois.  "Odessa said they were looking for a bigger forward who could score goals and Tyler has been that guy for us all season long," said Willner.  "It makes us feel pretty good that it happened as a result of the Showcase."

Cayemberg is third on the Lumberjacks in scoring and 6th overall in the 3HL with 38 points in 31 games played.  He helped Granite City to a 3-0-1 record at the Showcase and recorded six points in the four games.  The Lumberjacks are currently in 1st place in the 3HL's West Division with a 20-8-3 record.

"We are 100% happy he is going to the next level because that’s what we are here for," continued Willner.  "It will be a great experience for him.  He is going to a new, quality and professionally run organization in Odessa.  It shows other guys it is possible and we allow them that opportunity to try and make it to the next level."
