Thursday Thriller: Austin Continues Their Winning Ways
The Ice Bats secure a 4-1 victory over the Ice Wolves

Long Beach 6 @ Maine 3 - In their second matchup in as many days, the Long Beach Sharks and the Maine Nordiques took the ice on Thursday afternoon. After being shut out in the first matchup, Maine got off to a hot start in this one, scoring two goals in the first, both courtesy of Ayzik Laliberte. The Sharks would respond with two goals of their own to close the period to knot it at two apiece heading into the first intermission. The second period was all Long Beach. The Sharks started the period with a power-play goal from Brendan Dalton. Samuel Barnard and Wyatt Strahan would add goals of their own to go up three after the second period. Sean Bailey would add an empty-net goal late in the third period to secure the win, 6-3 for the Sharks. Will Zinnen was back between the pipes for the Sharks following his shutout performance yesterday. He padded away 28 of the 31 shots on goal.
Austin 4 @ New Mexico 1 - The Austin Ice Bats hit the road on Thursday evening as they went to take on the New Mexico Ice Wolves in a South Division matchup. The Ice Wolves opened the scoring in this one when Jackson Antonelli lit the lamp on New Mexico's first power play of the game. This was the lone goal in the first period. It was all Ice Bats the rest of the way. Jake Bamback would tally his 22nd and 23rd goals of the season, followed by a Liam Cardona goal. Mason Manderfield would add an empty-net goal late in the third period to secure the 4-1 win over New Mexico. Tyler White kept the crease clean; he padded away 13 of the 14 shots on goal.
