Willmar forward Sweetland makes NCAA commitment

The Willmar WarHawks of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are pleased to announce that forward Michael Sweetland has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.

Sweetland, 20, is currently playing in his third and final season of junior hockey in the NA3HL. The 5’9/165 lbs. native of Stillwater, MN, is currently having his best season to date with the WarHawks. So far during the 2022-23 campaign, Sweetland is leading the team in scoring with 36 points (11 goals, 25 assists) in 26 games played.

Last season, Sweetland recorded 33 points in 36 games played and during his rookie season in 2020-21, he put up 28 points in 23 games.

Overall in his NA3HL career, Sweetland has appeared in 85 games and recorded 97 career points.

Prior to playing junior hockey in the NA3HL, Sweetland played high school hockey for Stillwater High School.
