Northeast forward Nuzzolilo makes NCAA commitment
The Northeast Generals of the NA3HL are proud to announce that Top Prospects forward Matt Nuzzolilo has committed to play NCAA Division III hocky at Framingham State University.
Nuzzolilo, 19, came to the Generals to play for their 16U NAPHL team in 2019-20. He made an instant impact as he was named to the NAPHL All Star team and he didn’t stop collecting accolades there.
In his two seasons with the NA3HL Generals he was drafted in the NAHL, a two time NA3HL Top Prospects participant, a all rookie team selection and an all league selection.
In 92 career NA3HL regular season games Nuzzolilo had 62 goals, 67 assists and 129 points with a staggering plus +122. He led the Generals to the best record in the NA3HL in both of his season. He also guided the Generals to the Fraser Cup in both of his seasons.
“I have been lucky enough to Coach Matt for several years starting in youth hockey. I always tell him that if I had to build a team he would be my first pick. He is just so incredibly tough. Everyone looks at his height as a disadvantage, but he plays so big. He will go after the biggest guy on the ice and usually win the battle. He plays the game the right way in all 3 zones. His speed is a game changer, he appears to get faster with the puck on his stick. And his shot comes off so fast and accurate. He is a natural goal scorer that shows up in the big games. I am very proud of Matt and excited to watch him continue his hockey career at Framingham State University,” said Generals Head Coach Darryl Locke.
GM Bryan Erikson added, “Matt embodies the General Way. He is a great human being first and a great hockey player second. Great kid that trusted us with his development and we are so proud of Matt and can’t wait to watch him at the next level.”
