Rochester defenseman Waage makes NCAA commitment
The Rochester Grizzlies of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that Top Prospects defenseman Per Waage has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Hamline University.
Waage, 20, just completed his third and final season playing in the NA3HL and the Grizzlies. The 6’2/181 lbs. native of Plymouth, MN, appeared in 43 games during the 2022-23 regular season and recorded 22 points (6 goals, 16 assists). He was also selected to and played in the 2023 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the Central Division team. He was also named to the 2022-23 All-NA3HL 3rd team.
Waage also appeared in one NAHL game during the 2022-23 season for the Chippewa Steel.
During the 2021-22 season, Waage helped Rochester to the Fraser Cup Championship. He recorded 21 points in 43 games played during the regular season. He also played in five NAHL games for the Austin Bruins, making his NAHL debut on December 31, 2021.
During the 2020-21 season, Waage made his junior debut with the Grizzlies after playing two seasons of high school hockey in Minnesota for Wayzata High. He had three points in 18 games during his rookie campaign. In 104 career NA3HL regular season games, Waage recorded 46 points.
