NA3HL announces Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey
The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending January 19, 2020. The divisional stars of the week are awards given each week of the regular season to the top-performing players in each of the six divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.
Central Division Star of the Week: Garrett Alton, F, Milwaukee Power
Alton was at his best as the Power split a weekend set with the Warhawks, finding twine in both outings to both snap a seven-game goalless skid and extend his point streak to eight games. With two goals in Friday’s loss and another — plus an assist — in the win on Saturday, Alton now boasts 3g-11a—14pts on his current streak, and 8g-20a—28pts in 27 games on the season.
2nd Star: Sam VanderHoeven, G, Coulee Region Chill

Coastal Division Star of the Week: Anthony Viola, F, New England Stars
Viola and the Stars took a pair of wins on home ice over the weekend, a stretch that saw the 5-foot-8 New Hampshire-native star with two goals in each tilt. Viola had not posted two or more goals in a game since his second game of the season on Sept. 14, but rattled off back-to-back doubles to highlight a standout week for the Stars. He also has points in four straight, bagging 5g-3a—8pts in that span.
2nd Star: Carson Asper, F, Northeast Generals
Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Michael Lempiainen, F, New England Stars
Frontier Division Star of the Week: Kolten Wright, F, Sheridan Hawks
Wright helped carry the Hawks to consecutive victories last week, scoring a total of four times to make it four straight games with at least one goal for the Wisconsin native. A goal on Friday gave way to his second hat-trick of the season on Saturday, as he bagged the game-winner and set up a teammate as well. Saturday’s outburst marked his second four-plus point outing in three games, and sixth of the season.
2nd Star: Dylan Rumpke, F, Yellowstone Quake
Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Isaac Ellingson, F, Helena Bighorns — Jack Harris, F, Yellowstone Quake — Ty Niskanen, F, Helena Bighorns — Pablo Palos, F, Gillette Wild — Caleb Sanborn, F, Gillette Wild — Briar Sylvester, D, Sheridan Hawks
Northeast Division Star of the Week: Zachary Ostrowski, F, Long Beach Sharks
Ostrowski and the Sharks had quite a full weekend, playing four games in a span of three days. But the New York native was up for the challenge, hitting the scoresheet in each contest en route to a 1g-5a—6pts weekend. Posting one assist in each of the first two games, two in the third and finally a goal and a helper in the fourth, Ostrowski pushed his point streak to six straight and moved back into a point-per-game pace this season with 13g-24a—37pts in 37 games.

South Division Star of the Week: Logan Bellar, F, Texas RoadRunners

After posting an assist in Friday’s loss, Bellar put the team on his back with two goals and two assists in a statement 5-0 shutout of Louisiana. After spending time in the NAHL with the Odessa Jackalopes at the start of the year, Bellar has been stellar for Texas with 11g-18a—29pts in 29 games this season.

After setting up a teammate on Friday — his sixth assist in his last nine games — Bauman bagged a pair of goals and another helper on Saturday, guiding the Steel to consecutive wins. Bauman now boasts 13g-21a—34pts in just 26 outings this season, and ranks third on the Steel in points.
