RoadRunners beat Brahmas to advance to South Finals
South Division Semi-Finals, Game 3: TX RoadRunners 3 @ TX Brahmas 2 (RoadRunners win series, 2-1) – RoadRunners goalie Hunter Hein made 41 saves to lead his team to a 3-2 win in Game 3 and win the South Division Semi-Final Series against the Brahmas. The RoadRunners got off to a fast start as the jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to a 1st period goal from Tim Marsico and a goal early in the 2nd period from Ethan Sodoma. The Brahmas fought back to tie the game at 2-2 as Michigan Imala scored a pair of goals in the 2nd and 3rd period. With less than two minutes remaining in regulation, the RoadRunners netted the game-winner off the stick of Derek Boutin. Dolan Gilbert made 28 saves in the losing effort. The RoadRunners advance to the South Division Finals, where they will face the winner of the El Paso vs. Oklahoma City series.
South Division Semi-Finals, Game 2: Oklahoma City 4 @ El Paso 3 (Series tied, 1-1) – Four different players scored and Nathan Hadley made 39 saves as the Ice Hawks forced a third and decisive Game 3 on Monday thanks to a 4-3 win in Game 2 on Sunday. Oklahoma City jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Tyler Larsen and Jakob Holley. El Paso would tie the game at 2-2 later in the contest as Kaiden Hafele and Zachary Ware scored. In the 3rd period, the Ice Hawks regained their two-goal lead as goals from Garrett Conner and Richard Indermill made it 4-2. A late goal from El Paso’s Zachary Ware made the final 4-3. Rhinos goalie Camden Pendleton made 38 saves in the loss.
