Drillers close in on playoff spot with win in Atlanta
Louisiana 6 @ Atlanta 5 – Jack Lambert scored twice and Aron Lundgren had three points as the Capitals moved one step closer to a playoff spot thanks to a 6-5 road win in Atlanta on Thursday. The Drillers jumped out to a 4-1 lead early in the 2nd period thanks to goals from Brody Neish, Micah Maldonado, Hampus Ohlsson-Ornelius, and Lambert, while Nick Mumford scored for Atlanta. Later in the 2nd period, the Capitals tied the game at 4-4 with three straight goals from Austin Micale, Marcus Glenn, and another from Mumford. In the 3rd period, the Drillers secured the 6-5 win with another goal from Lambert and the game-winner from Lundgren. Micale had the lone goal in the 3rd period for the Caps. John Moriarty made 43 saves in the win, while Aleks Sumoski made 19 saves in the loss. Boxscore
