Saturday Scores: Bozeman continues push for playoffs

Blake Keller helped the Milwaukee Power win their fourth straight game as they swept Peoria this weekend.

Bozeman 4 @ Sheridan 0: The Bozeman Icedogs silenced the Sheridan Hawks in a 4-0 final score. In the first the Icedogs took a 2-0 lead with Dominik Hauer and Owen House scoring. In the second, Bodie Shepardson added to the Icedogs lead, 3-0. In the third, Owen House added his second of the game for a 4-0 final. Axel Rosenlund posted a 24 shot shutout win. 

Badlands 1 @ Butte 4: A third period push sent the Butte Cobras over the Badlands Sabres in a 4-0 score. Butte took a 1-0 lead in the first period with Quinn Nichols scoring. In the second the Sabres evened the game 1-1 with Dominic Powilatis. The third period was all Cobras as they scored with Tamer Billman, Patrick Crooks and Nick Bradshaw for a 4-1 final. Caleb Cross took the win in net after stopping 19 shots. 

Milwaukee 4 @ Peoria 3 – The Power stayed hot thanks to their fourth straight win as they edged the Mustangs, 4-3. Bryce Garber scored two goals and Blake Keller had three assists in the win. Peoria jumped out to an early lead thanks to a goal from Joseph Rancilio. Milwaukee answered with back-to-back goals from Max Erstad and Michael Dalaly to take a 2-1 lead. Ethan Chesney tied the game for Peoria in the 2nd period, but Garber would answer with the next two goals to secure the 4-3 win. Sean Patrick Merck had the other goal in the Mustangs loss. Adam Prokop made 39 saves in the win, while Joseph Ambroffi made 28 saves in the loss.

Louisiana 5 @ Atlanta 0 – Drillers goalie William Carney stopped all 27 shots that came his way for this first shutout of the season as Louisiana blanked the Capitals, 5-0. Five different players scored in the Drillers win including Ethan Littlefield in the 1st period, Aron Lundgren in the 2nd period, and Al Evanyk, Brody Neish, and Mason Wilbur in the 3rd period. Alex Croy made 46 saves in the loss for the Capitals.

Bay State 1 @ New Jersey 5 – The Titans kept their playoff hopes alive in the East Division thanks to a 5-1 win over the Bobcats. Aidan Gallagher led the way with two goals and an assist. Gallagher opened the scoring in the 1st period to make it 1-0. Bay State tied the game in the 2nd period on a goal from Nikita Liberman. The Titans then pulled away with the last four goals, which included goals from Jacob Gray, Payton Fobes, Kurt Johnson, and another from Gallagher. Daniel Antal made 25 saves in the win.

TX RoadRunners 10 @ Austin 0 – Recent NCAA commit Eitan Geralnik had five points as the RoadRunners outshot the Ice Bats 52-4 in a 10-0 win, which officially clinched a playoff spot for the RoadRunners. Nine different players scored for Texas, which included 1st period goals from Jack Herron, Matvey Ivanov, and Geralnik. In the 2nd period, Texas added three more goals from Kyle Portlock, Derek Boutin, and Ivanov. In the 3rd period, the RoadRunners added four more goals from Noah Easterson, Adrian Sanchez, Nick Lucas, and Tristen Elmhurst. Nash Wilson made 4 saves in the win, while Owen Reeve made 42 saves in the loss.

New Ulm 1 @ Mason City 5 – Five different players scored for the Toros and Will Kunka made 21 saves to lead Mason City to a 5-1 win over the Steel. After a scoreless 1st period, the Toros took a 3-0 lead in the 2nd period with goals from Dominic Thomas, Cal Levis III, and Zachary Laurila. In the 3rd period, Cullen Hogan and Dakota Lenz would also add goals for the Toros, while Jack Laser scored the lone goal for the Steel.

Oregon 10 @ St. Louis 1 – Oregon exploded for 10 goals, which included a 7-point game from forward Max Rotsaert in a 10-1 win over the Jr. Blues. Oregon led 3-0 after the 1st period with goals from Hayden Shoemake, Bryce Stensrud, and Matthew Shaw. The lead swelled to 8-0 in the 2nd period with goals from Cooper Routheau, two from Rotsaert, and the second of the game from both Shoemake and Shaw. In the 3rd period, Cartew Watters and Max Cohen both scored. Jacob Heuerman had the lone goal for the Jr. Blues in the loss. Fred Roufs made 11 saves in the win.

Long Beach 1 @ Northeast 4 – D’Mar McCoy made 19 saves and four different players scored for the Generals in a 4-1 win over the Sharks. Long Beach scored first in the 1st period thanks to their lone goal from Sam Barnitz. Northeast answered later in the period with a goal from Michael Arsenault. In the 3rd period, the Generals pulled away with three goals from Matthew Nuzzolilo, Phil Feinberg, and Gabe Coppo. Sharks goalie Colten McIntyre made 36 saves in the loss.

Alexandria 6 @ Wausau 1: The Alexandria Blizzard topped the Wausa Cyclones in a 6-1 contest. The Blizzard got ahead 5-0 after the first two periods. In the first Ashton Collings and Ryan Hadland scored. In the second it was Jameson O’Flynn, Sean Kenny and Hayden DeMars. The Cyclones scored in the 3rd with Brenan Valencia for a 5-1 score. Late in the third period, Wyatt Johnson added another for a 6-1 final score. Mitch Miscevich took the win stopping 10 shots. 

Granite City 2 @ Willmar 5: The Willmar WarHawks had a strong first and second period to take a 5-2 win over the Granite City Lumberjacks. In the first period the WarHawks went up 3-0 with goals from Tyler Misalek scoring twice and Nik Johnson. In the third Hunter Zinda scored and then Misalek netted a hat-trick goal for a 5-0 Willmar lead. In the third the Lumberjacks netted back to back goals with Reed Hanus and Tucker Skime for a 5-2 final. 

New Mexico 1 @ TX Brahmas 3: The Texas Brahmas got past the New Mexico Ice Wolves, 3-1. The game was tied 1-1 in the first with Zac Maupin scoring for the Brahmas and Ryan Kerr for the Ice Wolves. In the second, Texas got ahead 2-1 with a goal from Henry McRoberts. In the third period the Brahmas added an early goal to secure the win with Henry McRoerts. Riley Gorman stopped 17 of the 18 shots he faced. 

Great Falls 6 @ Gillette 11: The Gillette Wild topped the Great Falls Americnans 11-6. Gillette took a 4-0 lead in the first period. In the second the scoring went back-to-back as the Americans scored 4 times and the Wild 5 for a 9-4 score. In the third period, Great Falls and Gillette both added two goals for a final score of 11-6. Goaltender Cole Wheaton got the victory in net after stopping 41 of 47 shots. 

Yellowstone 0 @ Helena 10: The Helena Bighorns blanked the Yellowstone Quake 10-0. In the first period Thomas Hollon and Derek Rassell scored. In the second Braden Cunningham, Andrew Deskin, Tyler Bloom, Lyndon Orr and Owen Ramsav for a 7-0 lead. In the third, Rassell add two more for a hat-trick on the night and Andrew Deskin scored his second for a 10-0 final. Keaton French got the shutout win after turning away 18 shots.
