Norwich defenseman Hayden signs NAHL tender

The Norwich Sea Captains of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Tim Hayden has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Maryland Black Bears of the NAHL’s East Division.
Hayden, 20, just finished up his 2nd full season in the NA3HL. His NA3HL debut actually came in the 2020-21 season with the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks, playing two regular season and two playoff games for the club. These past two seasons, the New Fairfield, Connecticut native has pulled on a Sea Captains sweater.
The 6’3 201 lbs. defenseman played 47 games in the regular season for Norwich this year, recording 27 points (9 goals, 18 assists). He also contributed a pair of assists in three 2023 Fraser Cup Playoff games.
This February Hayden was selected to and participated in the 2023 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament. He also participated in the 2022 Top Prospects, playing all games representing Team East (2023) and Team Blue (2022).
Prior to playing in the NA3HL, Hayden developed his game with New York Apple Core and the Southern CT Stars programs.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2023 NAHL Draft.
