Mason City defenseman Kochanowski makes NCAA commitment
The Mason City Toros of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Matt Kochanowski has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Bethel University.
Kochanowski, 20, just completed his second and final season playing junior hockey in the NA3HL for the Toros. The 6’3/205 lbs. native of Apple Valley, MN, was fourth on the team in scoring during the 2022-23 season with 42 points (6 goals, 36 assists) in 45 games played. His 42 points ranked 8th among NA3HL defenseman.
Kochanowski appeared in 26 games with the Toros during his rookie season in 2021-22 and posted 23 points (4 goals, 19 assists) in 26 games played.
Prior to playing in the NA3HL, Kochanowki spent two seasons playing in the NAPHL T1ER League.
During the 2020-21 season, he recorded 14 points in 22 NAPHL games with the Des Moines Buccaneers 18U team.
During the 2019-20 season, recorded 12 points in 16 NAPHL games with the Sioux Falls Power 16U team.
