The Texas Brahmas are gearing up for what should be an exciting 2023-24 season in the NA3HL. With a rich history of success in recent years, they are determined to continue their winning culture under the leadership of their new head coach, Chad Bailey.

The Brahmas' performance the past few seasons speaks for itself. Last season, they finished with a stellar 34-11-2 record, securing the 2nd spot in the highly competitive South Division. Their journey led them to the playoffs and a spot in the Fraser Cup finals. This wasn't the only time they achieved this; the Brahmas had made the playoffs in the last two seasons before and reached the Fraser Cup finals in the 2020-21 season. Their crowning glory came in 2019 when they clinched the Fraser Cup.

Chad Bailey, entering his first season as the Brahmas' head coach, brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in junior hockey. He is thrilled to be a part of the Brahmas’ program and stated, “It is an honor to join an organization that has been committed to not only developing players but establishing a winning culture.”

Reflecting on his time in Sheridan, Bailey acknowledges that the experience helped him learn not only what works but also what doesn't in the world of coaching and player development.

“In order to find that playoff success you want to get out to a hot start out of the gates and not be climbing uphill the whole season. The fast start gives your players the notion that they can be a top team in the division. As a team you have to take each day as an opportunity not only to get better as individuals but as a group. Creating competition within our locker room will only help us translate that compete level to our games,” he emphasized.

The Brahmas are fortunate to have a solid group of returning players who have invaluable experience, all of them appearing at the Fraser Cup tournament. Brendan Forden's presence in the goaltender position brings veteran leadership and stability to the team's defensive core. On the blue line, Alex Cagan and Gabe Arteaga are expected to play pivotal roles in mentoring and developing the young defensemen. Upfront, the team looks to Cam Colberg, Chase Forry, Ryan Spreyne, and Joey Crowley to lead the way and set the standard for the incoming forwards.

As the Texas Brahmas embark on the 2023-24 NA3HL season, there is an undeniable sense of hope and purpose within the organization. Their unwavering commitment to competing at the Fraser Cup always makes them a tough opponent. With Chad Bailey at the helm and a group of experienced and determined players leading the charge, the Brahmas are determined to uphold their winning tradition.

They kick off their season at home on Friday, September 22nd against the New Mexico Ice Wolves.
