Friday Finals: Rhinos hand RoadRunners first loss

Tyler Misialek and the Willmar WarHawks picked up their first win of the 2023-24 season on Friday with a 6-2 win over the Loons.

Texas Roadrunners 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 3: El Paso handed the RoadRunners their first loss of the season with a 3-2 win. In the first period the El Paso Rhinos scored a goal by Tyler Dunkel making the score 1-0. In the second period both teams scored two goals for the Texas Roadrunners it was JT Brugaletta, and Adrian Sanchez, and for the El Paso Rhinos was Nicholas Jones, and David Tolan making the score 3-2. After a slow third period the final score was 3-2. Matt Loney saved 13 shots for the win, while Krzystof Jakubowski saved 38 shots in the loss.

Austin Ice Bats 3 @ Louisiana Drillers 10: With a 10-3 final the win goes to the Louisiana Drillers. Long Beach Sharks 4 @ Danbury Hat Tricks 3: The Sharks won their second game of the season with a 4-3 win. In the first period the Long Beach Sharks scored a goal by Edmond O’Connell making the score 1-0. In the second period the Long Beach Sharks scored one more goal by Colton Kozma making the score 2-0. In the third the Danbury Jr Hat Tricks scored three goals one by Ronan McAllister, and two from Aidan Anderson, and two goals for the Long Beach Sharks by Jackson Hampton, and Mason Jackson making the final score 4-3. Jackson Black saved 21 shots for the win, while Riley Gorman saved 33 shots in the loss.

Bozeman Icedogs 1 @ Gillette Wild 6: The Wild handed the Icedogs their first loss of the season. In the first period the Gillette Wild scored a goal by Issac Young making the score 1-0. In the second period the Gillette Wild scored two goals by Adam Severson, and Tay Kurpius, and the Bozeman Ice Dogs scored a goal by Braden Koliha making the score 3-1. In the third period the Gillette Wild scored three goals by Adam Severson, Ryan Hipsag, and Tay Kurpius making the final score 6-1. Cole Wheaton saved 29 shots for the win, while Matthew Ryynanen saved 30 shots and Isaac Weatherford saved 21 shots in the loss.

Yellowstone Quake 0 @ Helena Bighorns 9: In the first period the Helena Bighorns scored two goals by Finn Theriault, and Owen Ramsay making the score 2-0. In the second period the Helena Bighorns scored four more goals by Gavin Barr, Tim Mattingly, Dylan Cunnungham, and Camden Cunningham making the score 6-0.
