Sunday Wrap-Up: Generals stay undefeated with close win

Generals goalie Daniel Antal made 31 saves in a 3-2 win on Sunday to move his record to a perfect 7-0.

New Hampshire 2 @ Northeast 3 – The Generals moved to a perfect 13-0-0 on the season as a three-goal 2nd period propelled them to a 3-2 home win over New Hampshire. The Mountain Kings were first on the board in the 1st period with a goal from Christian Sohner. The Generals answered back three times in the 2nd period as Nicholas Summers, Connor McLachlan, and Sean Gorman all scored. New Hampshire made it 3-2 late in the game with a goal from Max Goulden. Daniel Antal made 31 saves in the win, while Jake Agoglia made 39 saves in the loss.

New Jersey 7 @ Long Beach 6 (SO) – Zane Mazzola scored two goals and added an assist as the Titans beat the Sharks in a shootout, 7-6. Lucas Carney, Zach O’Neil, Dante Debueris, and Payton Forbes also scored in the Titans win. The Sharks loss was highlighted by four goals from forward Chris Keller and Nolan Nemecek and Edmond O’Connell also scored in the loss. Titans goalie Sebastian Thome made 11 saves in the win, while Colten McIntyre made 35 saves in the loss.

El Paso 1 @ TX Brahmas 8 – Max Brooks and TJ Lotz each had three points to lead the Brahmas to an 8-1 win on Sunday over the Rhinos. The Brahmas had a 5-0 lead through two periods on goals from Brooks, Lotz, Cameron Colberg, Joey Crowley, and Ryan Spreyne. In the 3rd period, El Paso got their lone goal from Julian Martinez to make it 5-1, but the Brahmas pulled away thanks to another goal from Brooks and others from Luke Moisan and Sam Bailey. Luke Romney made 27 saves in the win.

Louisiana 3 @ New Mexico 1 – Thanks to 40 saves from goalie Riley Burnett, the Louisiana Drillers handed the Ice Wolves their first regulation loss of the season in a 3-1 road win on Sunday. The game was scoreless through two periods of play. The Drillers were first on the board in the 3rd period thanks to a goal from Cheeno Gryska. New Mexico tied the game at 1-1 with a goal from Carson Gotelaere. The Drillers had an immediate answer as Jake Bergstrom scored and Ethan Littlefield added an insurance goal.

Atlanta 8 @ Mid Cities 1 – Landon Thiessen had two goals and two assists and Isaac Fuller scored twice as the Capitals beat the Stars on Sunday, 8-1. The Capitals took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Anthony O’Neal and Aidan Besedic. Mid Cities made it 2-1 as Austin Ferris scored their lone goal. From there, it was all Capitals as Thiessen scored twice, Fuller scored twice and Brett Phillips and Brad Camp also added goals. Alex Croy made 24 saves in the win.
