Grizzlies cruise to an 8-2 win over Toros on Tuesday
Rochester 8 @ Mason City 2 – The Rochester Grizzlies widened their lead atop the West Division and won their fourth straight game as they handled Mason City Toros on Tuesday night by a score of 8-2. Lennard Habeck and Matt Haun had two goals apiece and Josh Wolf contributed three assists in the win.
The Grizzlies jumped out a 2-0 lead thanks to 1st period goals from Duke Boccardi and Haun.
The lead swelled to 5-0 in the 2nd period as Haun added his second goal to go along with goals from Spencer Klotz and Habeck’s first of the night.
In the 3rd period, the Toros got on board to make it 5-1 as Bryan Wiggins scored. However, it more Grizzlies scoring after that as they netted three straight goals to make it an 8-1 contest as Habeck netted his second of the game and Owen Van Tassel and Noah Joyce also scored. Wiggings would add his second of the contest late in the 3rd period to make the score an 8-2 final.
Grizzlies goalie Riley Swanson made 17 saves in the win, while Devin Peck made 35 saves in the loss.
