Sunday Wrap Up: Lumberjacks Remain in Striking Distance with OT Victory

Tristen May-Robinson tallied three points in the Woodsmen victory over St. Louis

Wisconsin 6 @ St. Louis 2: Tristen May-Robinson netted a goal and two helpers as the Woodsmen defeated the Jr. Blues by a score of 6-2. Jack Laser, Hunter Nelson, Hugh Deinema and Nolan-James Mix all got on the scoresheet for Wisconsin. Mason Wright had a goal and an assist and Carter Clemons also scored for St. Louis in the loss. Ryan Hacker and Kirill Guryev combined to make 18 saves while Jordan Brennen stopped 43 shots for the Jr. Blues.

Louisiana 6 @ Austin 0: Roman Vitolo netted a goal and two helpers to lead the Louisiana Drillers to complete the sweep of the Austin Ice Bats with a 6-0 win on Sunday. Brody Neish and Colton Sebastian each had a goal and an assist in the win. Charlie Benisch, Brendan Johnson and Finn Overby all lit the lamp for Louisiana. Daegen Love earned the shutout in goal as he stopped 23 shots for the Drillers. Gorial Yaro was dealt the loss as he stopped 44 shots for Austin.

El Paso 3 @ Texas R 1: Trevor Stenglein netted two goals as the El Paso Rhinos topped the Texas RoadRunners by a score of 3-1. Nick Jones also had a goal and chipped in two assists in the victory. Anthony Lipsky provided the lone goal for Texas. Matt Loney got the win in the blue paint as he made 23 saves. Krzysztof Jakubowski madę 31 saves for the RoadRunners.

Great Falls 2 @ Badlands 3 (SO): The Badlands Sabres scored a key win on Sunday as they defeated the Great Falls Americans 3-2 in a shootout on Sunday. Brady Ridnour got the Sabres on the board first with his sixth of the season. In the second period Alexander Petrotto increased the lead with his 15th of the year. In the third period, Darren Narvaez scored twice to tie the game at two and force overtime. After a scoreless overtime, the game went to a shootout where Ridnour scored the only goal of the skills competition to give the Sabres the extra point. Dawson Sellner stopped 26 shots in the game and all three shooters in the shootout to pick up the win. Anyon Bennett finished the game with 48 saves for Great Falls.

New Hampshire 3 @ Long Beach 0: Manny Pantow turned aside all 38 shots he faced as the Jr. Mountain Kings shutout the Sharks 3-0. Leonardo Kahlhammer, Noah Levesque and Ryan Hiles all scored for New Hampshire. Joey Christophel was busy all afternoon long as he finished the game with 57 saves. Owen Zenone stopped all but one shot in the victory as he finished with 25 saves. Damian Vandanacker turned aside 38 saves for the Capitals.

Atlanta 1 @ New Mexico 4: Liam Mooney netted a pair of goals as the New Mexico Ice Wolves completed the sweep of the Atlanta Capitals 4-1. Fletcher Burnett and Braeden Whitesell both found the back of the net for the Ice Wolves. Brett Phillips netted the only goal for Atlanta in the loss.

Alexandria 1 @ Rochester 4: Luke Sawicky netted a pair of goals as the Rochester Grizzlies beat the Alexandria Blizzard 4-1. Leo Milan and Andrew Lahaie each found the back of the net while Gavin Griffin chipped in two assists. Joe Gronholz provided the lone goal for the Blizzard in the loss. Nick Kurtiak was the winner in between the pipes as he stopped 26 shots. Nolan LaCosse was dealt the defeat as he made 30 saves.

Mason City 2 @ Granite City 3 (OT): Parker Mitchell was the overtime hero as the Granite City Lumberjacks edged the Mason City Toros 3-2 on Sunday. Dominic Thomas got the Toros on the board first in the opening minutes. Granite City would respond with goals from Sam Brennan and Jack Louko in the second period. Miles Berg tied the game in the third forcing overtime and eventually leading to Mitchell’s heroics. Ryan Lehet was the winner in goal as he finished the game with 34 saves. Drew Blake was the loser in goal despite making 40 saves.

Northeast 8 @ Danbury 1: Brandon Hemmer and Gabe Vijuk each had a goal and two assists as the Northeast Generals beat the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks by a score of 8-1. Ryan Kirkman, Caiden Hess and Connor McLachlan each potted a pair of goals in the win. Jack Klunk netted the lone goal for Danbury in the loss. Mike Foglia needed just nine saves to earn the win in net while Markus Paltauf finished the night with 50 saves for the Jr. Hat Tricks.
