Oregon announces relocation to Blaine, MN

May 10, 2024

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) announces that its Board of Governors has approved the relocation of the Oregon Tradesmen to Blaine, Minnesota.

Beginning in the 2024-25 season, the Tradesmen will be rebranded as the Minnesota Moose. The Moose will be a part of the  NA3HL’s West Division and will play out of Fogerty Arena in Blaine.

“The Tradesmen have had tremendous success on the ice in our four years in Oregon,” President of the Tradesmen Bill McCoshen said. “We want to thank our coaches, staff, players, billets, sponsors, and fans for their support over the years.”

The Moose  will be coached by Todd Sanden, who has won four Fraser Cup Championships as Head Coach and General Manager of the North Iowa Bulls.

“The Moose will fit perfectly into the NA3HL footprint and provide another great opportunity for players to gain exposure and advancement opportunities in the state of Minnesota,” NAHL Commissioner and President Mark Frankenfeld said. “Fogerty Arena has been a tremendous partner with the NAHL, and I believe that will continue to be true with the NA3HL and the Moose making Fogerty their new home.”

The NA3HL is the only USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier III Junior league and serves as one of the top training grounds in the country by providing the best coaching, exposure and developmental vehicles available for student-athletes in its classification. The NA3HL will be entering its 15th season of operation during the 2024-25 season. It is the only USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier III junior hockey league.
