The Rochester Grizzlies of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Owen Van Tassel has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for Hamline University in the MIAC.

Van Tassel, 21, is a two-year NA3HL player for the Grizzlies, appearing in 74 regular season games, tallying 82 points (35 goals, 47 assists), including 9 powerplay goals and 5 game winning goals while maintaining an average plus-minus of +20. As the second leading scorer for the Grizzlies this season, the Centerville, MN native had 8 games where he recorded 3+ points in a single contest.

The ‘03 forward also was called up to the NAHL 21 times, playing for the Minnesota Magicians, Bismarck Bobcats and Johnstown Tomahawks.

“Owen was great in his 2 year stint with the Rochester Grizzlies. He embodied what it means to be a Grizzly with his work ethic to reach the Division 3 level. He is going to be an awesome person first and foremost at Hamline University as well as a player,” stated Rochester Head Coach Tyler Veen.

Van Tassel is the 2nd player to commit from the Grizzlies this season.
