Grizzlies forward Lakic makes NCAA Commitment

June 19, 2024

The Rochester Grizzlies of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that forward Maksim Lakic has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for Dubuque University in the NCHA.

Lakic, 21, is a two-year NA3HL player for the Grizzlies, appearing in 70 games, 4 of which being Fraser Cup Playoff games. Over the course of two seasons, the Milwaukee, WI native tallied 56 points (19 goals, 37 assists.) As the third leading scorer for the Grizzlies this season, the 6’1” forward had 5 games where he recorded 3 points in a single contest and also had a 6 game point streak where he was able to get on the scoresheet at least once.

“It was an honor to have Maksim in a Rochester Grizzlies uniform for two seasons. His dedication to making himself and teammates better was unmatched. His intensity on and off the ice is exactly what will translate at the D3 level with Dubuque University,” stated Rochester Head Coach Tyler Veen.

In addition to suiting up for a pair of NAHL games with the Johnstown Tomahawks, Lakic also appeared in 40 NAPHL games at the 16U and 18U levels with the Green Bay Jr. Gamblers and Chicago Reapers, tallying 25 points (9 goals, 16 assists).

Lakic is the 4th player to commit from the Grizzlies this season.
