Wild defenseman Schmitz makes ACHA Commitment

The Gillette Wild of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Wyatt Schmitz has committed to play ACHA DI hockey for Grand Canyon University. 

Schmitz, 20, is a two-year NA3HL player for the Wild, appearing in 90 games, 8 of which being Fraser Cup Playoff games. Throughout his time in Gillette, the Edina, MN native recorded 44 points (9 goals, 35 assists). His best game of his career came in January of 2023 as the blueliner scored one goal and tallied three assists against Butte. 

Schmitz is the 1st player to commit for the Blizzard this season and will be one of five incoming freshmen with NA3HL ties for the Lopes.
