Woodsmen Captain Nelson makes NCAA Commitment
The Wisconsin Woodsmen of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that Captain Hunter Nelson has committed to play NCAA DIII hockey for Northland College in the WIAC.
Nelson, 20, is a NA3HL veteran, suiting up for the New Ulm Steel, Mason City Toros and most recently, the Wisconsin Woodsmen. Throughout his time in the league, the Jamestown, ND native played 78 games, tallying 55 points (27 goals, 28 assists), 46 points alone this season, the second leading scorer for Wisconsin.
With two game winning goals, seven powerplay goals and one shorthanded goal this season, Nelson was selected to attend the 2024 Top Prospects Tournament.
Nelson is the 4th player to commit for the Woodsmen this season and will be one of three incoming freshmen with NA3HL ties for the LumberJacks.
