Sabres defenseman Vannelli makes ACHA Commitment

The Badlands Sabres of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Ian Vannelli has committed to play ACHA DI hockey for Indiana Tech University.

Vannelli, 21, is a longtime NA3HL player, beginning his junior career during the 2020-21 season with the Rochester Grizzlies. Throughout his time in the league with the Grizzlies, Bighorns and Sabres, the Apple Valley, MN native appeared in 110 games, recording 44 points (10 goals, 34 assists), with 60% of his goals coming on the powerplay. 

During the 2023-24 season with the Sabres, Vannelli went on a four game point streak on two separate occasions and capped off the year with a three goal against the Gillette Wild. 

Vannelli is the fourth player to commit from the Sabres this season.
