The West Bend Power finished off a weekend sweep over Peoria

Northeast 1 @ Long Beach 0 (OT) - Northeast took home a defensive, overtime victory on Long Island tonight. Both goaltenders showed out in the game as neither allowed a goal in regulation. General goalie Jascha Grossenbacher stopped all 46 shots in his overtime shutout. Shark goaltender Turner England stopped 43 of 44 shots in the loss. Matej Dvorsky played hero, potting the overtime winner for Northeast. The Generals earned their eighth point (4-5-0-0) of the season with the win while the Sharks grabbed their sixth point (2-8-2-0) with the loss.

Louisiana 6 @ Atlanta 2 - Louisiana defeated Atlanta 6-2 thanks to a four-goal third period. The Drillers potted the game’s first goal just 4:33 into the opening period as Jake Bergstrom scored his fourth of the year. The game remained 1-0 until midway through the second period when Atlanta finally found the back of the net. Brad Camp evened the game at 10:08 in the middle frame. Atlanta then took the lead three minutes later thanks to Brad Camp’s second goal of the game. However, the lead did not last long. Louisiana re-tied the game at 15:03. Johnathan Berndt netted the goal as the game moved to the second intermission knotted at two apiece. The offensive explosion began for the Drillers just 2:16 into the third. Max Workman had the first tally of the period before Alexander Boyd struck just 19 seconds later. The onslaught continued with Bergstrom scoring his second of the game three minutes later. Brody Neish’s fourth goal of the year at 11:34 closed the book on the scoring with Louisiana up 6-2. Owen Huisman stopped 21 of 23 shots he faced in the win while Jackson Black made 48 saves in a losing effort. Louisiana pushed to 15 points (7-0-1-0) with the win while Atlanta remained at 3 points (1-9-1-0).

New Jersey 3 @ Binghamton 4 - Binghamton rode a strong second period to a 4-3 victory over New Jersey. Despite the final score, the game did not start ideally for the Buzz. New Jersey struck for the game’s first two tallies. Vladimir Zakharov potted his sixth of the season before Fiona Thomann netted his fourth four minutes later. The Titans took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. Binghamton finally got on the board on the power play at the 7:10 mark of the period. Jason DiMatteo got the goal which was already his 11th of the year. The Buzz continued to draw penalties and cash in on the power play. Joey Roselli and Tyler Hamlin each scored on the power play to give Binghamton the lead. Ethan Miller’s team-high 12th goal then gave the Buzz a 4-2 advantage as the period came to a close. New Jersey continued to fight in the final frame as Dante Debueris cut the lead to 4-3 with 11:14 to play. Buzz goaltender Dalton Elliot held firm as Binghamton held on to win by that score. Elliot stopped 36/39 shots he faced in the win while Nicolas Gould made 43 saves in the loss. Binghamton extended their division lead earring their 16th point (8-2-0-0) while New Jersey remains in the basement with four points (2-7-0-0).

Norwich 3 @ Maine 4 (OT) - Maine defeated Norwich 4-3 in overtime last night. The Nordiques struck first in the game. Gabe Shaw found the back of the net 15:43 into the opening period for his first of the year. The Sea Captains responded just 1:29 later as Mason Payne evened the score. Maine then  grabbed the first goal of the middle frame as Connor Boulay gave his team a 2-1 advantage. Norwich quickly responded with two goals of their own to take a 3-2 lead. John Fosbre and Harrison Rangers were credited for the goals for the Sea Captains. The Nordiques’ Canon Gough tied the game 3:37 into the third which was enough to push the game to overtime. Maine eventually found the winner 2:39 into the extra frame. Carter Walls potted his fourth goal of the year to win it for the Nordiques. Gabe Pomerleau made 38 stops in the win while Presley Patrin stopped 27 of 31 shots in the loss. Maine moved to eight points (4-4-0-0) on the season while Norwich stayed at 13 points (6-1-0-0).

Mason City 1 @ Minnesota W 2 (OT) - Minnesota defeated Mason City 2-1 in overtime last night. Goaltenders Matthew Ketchum and Pierson Haislet both held their opponents scoreless into the third period. Ryan Jones finally broke the ice 12:32 into the final frame to put the Wilderness up 1-0. However, the Toros tied the game with the goalie pulled and just 53 seconds remaining. Kellen Kantris got the tally to send the game to overtime. Rory Kronick became tonight’s hero as he scored his fourth goal of the year just over two minutes into the extra period. Haislet stopped 18/19 shots in the win while Ketcham made 32 stops. Minnesota improved to eight points (4-4-0-0) with the win while Mason City grabbed their 10th point (4-3-1-1) of the year.

Minnesota M 0 @ Alexandria 4 - Alexandria shutout Minnesota last night en route to a 4-0 victory. Jayden Serene made 26 saves on as many shots to secure the shutout. The Blizzard found a pair of goals in the second period to take a 2-0 lead. Mario Bernard broke the ice at 3:18 before Reece Humber scored at 18:06. Humber then got his second goal of the game early in the third period. Jack Carter polished off the scoring for Alexandria with less than two minutes to play in the game. Dylan Posch made 48 stops on 52 shots in the loss. Alexandria secured their sixth point (3-3-0-0) of the year in the win while Minnesota remained at three points (1–6-1-0).

El Paso 0 @ Texas R 5 - Texas jumped all over El Paso in a dominant 5-0 victory last night. The Roadrunners struck thrice in the first period. Skylar Bawcom’s 11th goal of the year broke the ice before Kyle Mackintosh scored less than two minutes later. Vincenzo Cavazos finished the big period with his goal at 17:34. Texas struck for two more in the third following a scoreless middle frame. Adrian Abram scored his first of the year 14 seconds in the final 20 minutes ahead of Bawcom’s 12th of the year into an empty net. Jimmy Packee stopped all 25 shots he faced in the win while Aiden Wysoglad made 32 saves in the victory. Texas added their 11th and 12th points (6-1-0-0) of the season with the win while El Paso continue to search for their first point (0-6-0-0) of the year.

Wausau 7 @ Wisconsin 1 - Two goals each from Jake Garrow and Micah Saxon propelled the Wausau Cyclones to their sixth straight win, a 7-1 victory over the Wisconsin Woodsmen on Saturday night. In the first, goals from Garrow, a power play tally for Landon Bechtolt, and Saxon powered the Cyclones to a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes. In the second, it was all Cyclones once again, as Garrow, Eiji Hoffman, Saxon, and Truman Zerse put Wausau up seven. Tyler Osborne would get one back for the Woodsmen, but that would be all she wrote. Dereck Namlick had 36 saves in the win, and Lleyton Jaschke and Steven Kelley combined for 25 in the loss.

Peoria 0 @ West Bend 7 - A pair of goals from Jake Sherry, Jackson Hoem and Lucca Weinkauf gave the West Bend Power their fifth straight win with a 7-0 showing over the Peoria Mustangs. In the first, with just under two to go, Sherry would net his first of the night to give the home side the lead after twenty minutes. In the second, goals 87 seconds apart from Samuel Harper and Jackson Hoem tripled the Power lead to three and just after the midway point of the period, Sherry would net his second to give the Power a four goal lead heading into the second intermission. The third period would continue to be all West Bend, as a major power play saw Weinkauf net both of his goals just over three minutes apart, and Hoem would net his second goal, shorthanded, with just under four to go to seal it. Samuel Siepert would stop all 16 pucks, while Filip Kaczmarczyk and Charlie Maquet would combine for 36 saves in the loss.

Rochester 2 @ Granite City 3 - A two goal effort from Connor Miller propelled the Granite City Lumberjacks to a 3-2 win over the Rochester Grizzlies on Saturday night. Just under two minutes apart early in the first, goals from Andrew Bastian and Noah Joyce gave the visitor a two goal lead. But as they say, a two goal lead is the worst lead to have, and Granite City capitalized, as just under a minute after Joyce scored, Patty Dunaiski would tally a shorthanded goal to cut the Grizzlies lead to a goal, and with just over four to go until the first intermission, Miller would tally his first of the night to send the game to the first intermission deadlocked at two goals apiece. The second would have a lot of opportunities, but 10 saves for Granite City netminder Gabe Otis and 9 saves for Granite City goalie Nick Hansen would keep the game tied at two goals apiece. Just over five minutes into the third, Miller would net his second in a scrum in front to give Granite City the lead. Rochester would fight desperately for an equalizer, but Granite City would hold on to win. Hansen would tally 27 saves in the win, while Otis would tally 29 saves in the loss.

Sheridan 3 @ Helena 4 (OT) - Jeffrey Hershberger was the overtime hero as the Helena Bighorns defeated the Sheridan Hawks 4-3 on Saturday night. The lone goal in the first, just past the midway point, went to Finn Theriault for the home side, and Helena would lead by a goal after one period. In the second, Theriault would net his second, and 18 seconds later, Elijah Elmer would give the Bighorns a three goal lead, but Sheridan would storm back, as just 17 seconds after Elmer scored, Josh Serino cut the lead back to two for Sheridan, and with just over four to go, Vincent Leaf would cut the lead in half, and Kiefer Dunham would beat the buzzer on the powerplay to send the game to the second intermission deadlocked at three goals apiece. The third would bring many opportunities for the Bighorns, but 11 saves for TJ Wonnacott sent the game to overtime, where Hershberger would send the Bighorn fans home happy. Malik Johnson would tally 27 saves in the win, while Wonnacott would tally 41 in the loss.

Badlands 1 @ Great Falls 4 - Four separate goal scorers powered the Great Falls Americans to a 4-1 win over the Badlands Sabres on Saturday night. In the first, Blake Komrofske notched his second of the year to put the Americans up one after one. In the second, an early power play tally for Aiden Kennedy doubled the Americans lead, and Ty O’Bey would score with just over six minutes to go to give the Americans a three goal lead after two. In the third, John Lang would score his third of the year to give the Americans a four goal lead. Zack Vockler would get one back for Badlands, but it would be too little too late.

Bozeman 6 @ Yellowstone 2 - Two goals each from Devin Bruns and Barrett Becker powered the Bozeman Icedogs to a 6-2 win over the Yellowstone Quake on Saturday night. The first period would be all Bozeman, as just 23 seconds in, Becker would net his first of the evening. Just over seven minutes in, Sage Courchene would score to double the Bozeman lead. Goals just under two minutes apart in the final four minutes of the period from TJ Kelsey and Becker gave the Icedogs a four goal lead after twenty minutes. In the second, Jake Ricci would net his second of the season to cut the Bozeman lead to three, but just over three minutes later, Bruns would net his first of the night to restore the four goal lead. With just under four to go in the second, Max Goulden would score to cut the lead back to 5-2, and that would be the score after two periods of play. The third would bring another goal for Bruns, and the Icedogs would complete the weekend sweep with the final score of 6-2. Oscar Gribauval would have 16 saves in the winning effort, while Nicolas Ulyanov and Nate Whitson would combine for 56 in the loss.
