Saturday Scores: Brahmas Win Streak Reaches Double Digits

Norwich 3 @ New Hampshire 4 - In the first, Nick Cox put New Hampshire on the board with a goal assisted by Braedan Gagnon and Gabriel Leclerc. Logan Niesen put the puck in the net with an unassisted goal. During the second, Linards Zemnickis put the Mountain Kings in the lead with a goal assisted by Ryan Mileikis and Aidan Palmeter. Aidan Raedy tied the game up for the Sea Captains with help from Glen Farmer and Chase Leivian. Xander St. Pierre took control of the lead for New Hampshire assisted by Gleb Zyrianov and Cameron Fanfa. Aidan Palmeter added one more goal in the third with assists from Zemnickis and Noah Levesque. Jake Wilkerson made one more goal assisted by Mitchell Goodwin, but fell to the Mountain Kings.  Lucas Vellequette had 25 saves for the Sea Captains, while Evan Johnston had 28 saves for the Mountain Kings.

Yellowstone 1 @ Great Falls 11 - In the first, Zac Orwig with an assist from Matt Beazley scored a goal for the Americans. Aiden Kennedy would add an unassisted goal for them as well. In the second, Ty O’Bey made a goal assisted by Garren Narvaez assisted by Kennedy. Blayne Jusczak assisted by John Lang and Fisher Hannesson would increase the lead. Kennedy Easton would put another goal on the board assisted by Orwig and Narvaez. Easton would add one more in this period with assists from Orwig and Keegan Hanson. Macen Heisler scored an unassisted goal for the Quake. In the third, Orwig assisted by Easton would add another goal in the beginning of the period. Kennedy, assisted by Orwig and Narvaez, would add to the lead. Lang with assists from O’Bey and Kennedy would add to the momentum with another goal. Orwig would get the hat trick with help from Narvaez and Easton. Gavin Denis would solidify the win for the Great Falls Americans with a goal assisted by Blake Komrofske and Masen Kerr. Matthew Neeser made 51 saves for Yellowstone Quake, while Patrick Forsythe made 18 saved for the Great Falls Americans.

Wausau 4 @ St. Louis 1 - The first period of the game remained scoreless. Jake Garrow assisted by Connor Dvorak put a goal on the board for the Cyclones in the second. Mason Andrew snuck a goal at the end of the second with help from Kelly Coldwater and Mason Wright to tie up the game for the Jr. Blues. A goal early in the third made by Truman Zerse with assists from Eiji Hofmann and Owen Gohm gave the Cyclones the lead. Garrow scored another goal assisted by Jack Dawley and Brady Knutsen. Garrow got the hat trick in the third with one more goal assisted by Knutsen. Dereck Namlick had 31 saves for the Wausau Cyclones and Travis Visvadra had 33 saves for the St. Louis Jr. Blues.

New Jersey 5 @ Long Beach 4 - Devon Fay got the first period started early for the Sharks with a goal assisted by JD DiTomasso. New Jerseys’ Nikita Suvorov would tie the game up with an unassisted goal. Vladimir Zakharov with an assist from Mateo Ruffolo would allow the Titans to take the lead. Ruffolo assisted by Zachary Gershner would add another goal for the Titans. During the second, Jason Cameron of the Titans would score an unassisted goal. Wyatt Strahan assisted by Ryan Long added another goal for the Sharks. Strahan would add another goal in the period with assists from Jay Montgomery and Robert Johnson IV. Colton Kozma would tie the game up in the third assisted by TJ Lotz. The third period remained scoreless resulting in overtime. An unassisted Titans’ Daniil Korobeynikov goal would finish this game in overtime. Callahan Schultz made 37 saves for the Titans. Jeremy Carpenter made 13 saves for the Sharks and was pulled in the first. Turner England made 21 saves for Long Beach.

Maine 1 @ Binghamton 2 - There were no goals scored in the first period. Victor Sliwinski assisted by Matthew Zackowski put a goal on the board for Binghamton. Keegan Elliot with assists from Griffin Gagnon and Mason Wright would make the lead 2-0. In the third, Cannon Gough of the Maine Nordiques scored a goal with help from Carter Walls and Krisjanis Graholskis. Thomas Baker made 29 saves for the Nordiques, while Chase Ebeyer made 21 saves for the Buzz.

Wisconsin 10 @ Peoria 7 - The Wisconsin Woodsmen were victorious in a high-scoring affair against the Peoria Mustangs Saturday night. The Woodsmen opened the scoring in the first period, but the Mustangs quickly answered back and scored 4 goals during the first period. The Woodsmen added another goal midway through the period bringing the score to 4-2. The second period shifted in favor of the Woodsmen with the team scoring 6 goals, while the Mustangs added two more of their own, making the score 8-6 heading into the third. In the third period, the Mustangs were able to score one last goal of the night, but not without the Woodsmen scoring two goals of their own to secure their 10-7 victory over the Mustangs. The scoring was spread amongst multiple players for both teams showcasing the variety of talent both teams hold. Wisconsin's goaltender, Otto Reinhart, saved 31 out of 38 shots in the win, while between Peoria’s two goaltenders, 57 out of 66 shots were saved in the loss.

Alexandria 0 @ Rochester 3 - The Rochester Grizzlies defeated the Alexandria Blizzard at home Saturday night. The first period was scoreless. 5 minutes into the second period, Noah Joyce had a power play goal to kick off the scoring for the Grizzlies. Andrew Bastian found the back of the net later on in the second period to score another one for the Grizzlies. Near the end of the third period, Josh Wolf scored the final goal of the night to help the Grizzlies secure their 3-0 win over the Blizzard.

Tulsa 2 @ Texas B 12 - The Texas Brahams earned a weekend sweep over the Tulsa Oilers at home. The Brahmas opened the scoring a minute into the first period and scored 3 additional goals during the period. The Oilers were able to net one goal of their own towards the end of the first. The Brahams put three more points up on the board early on in the second period. In the third period, the Brahams found the back of the net with five more goals. Tulsa’s Kolin Krizan scored midway through the third and recorded the only two goals of the night for the Oilers. The Brahmas’ Chase Forry and Nicholas Meshkantsov both tallied an impressive 8 points for the win.

Minnesota M 2 @ Willmar 5 - The Willmar WarHawks conquered the Minnesota Moose at home with a 5-2 victory. Keegan Montgomery opened the scoring for the WarHawks about 6 minutes into the period. Just a few minutes later Scott Woltman netted two more goals for the WarHawks. The Moose retaliated back nearing the end of the first with two power play goals from Reid Watson and Charlie Marchand. The second period saw no goals, but the WarHawks Jett Wheeler and Gabriel Adams scored the final two goals of the night later on in the third period. The Moose’s netminder, Dylan Posch saved 36 out of 41 shots in the loss, while the WarHawks’ Kai Girard stopped 26 out of 28 shots for the win.

Austin 1 @ New Mexico 4 - The New Mexico Ice Wolves secured a solid 4-1 victory at home over the Austin Ice Bats. New Mexico started the scoring late in the first period with Rory Smith finding the back of the net with his first NA3HL goal. In the second period, Makoto Sudoh netted a goal almost 12 minutes into the period. Austin responded back quickly with a power play goal from Georgii Tokarskll to make the score 2-1. Jake Wenner scored a power play goal with less than two minutes left in the period to help boost the Ice Wolves’ lead. 4 minutes into the third, New Mexico’s Dantae Hunziker netted a goal of his own to make the final score read 4-1 New Mexico. New Mexico’s goaltender, Ryan Wallin saved 9 out of the 10 shots he faced, while Austin’s Gavin Morris made 27 out of 31 saves in the loss.

Mason City 1 @ Granite City 10 - Mason City headed into Saturday night’s contest hoping to avenge their loss to Granite City the last time these teams met. Unfortunately, such a victory was not on the cards for the Toros. Mason City did hold the Lumberjacks scoreless through the first period. However, Granite City rode 10 different goal scorers to victory on Saturday. Forward Patty Dunaiski and defenseman Justin Lesser led the way offensively as they provided a goal and two assists each in the blowout victory over the Toros.

Texas R 1 @ El Paso 4 - It was a battle between rivals from the Lone Star State on Saturday as Texas took on El Paso. And it was a game that the home side had control of throughout. El Paso scored four consecutive goals in the first and second periods before eventually skating away with a 4-1 victory. Rhinos forward Jake Bamback scored his fourth of the season to help put his team in the win column. The lone goal from the RoadRunners came off the stick of Kyle Mackintosh, who scored his sixth of the year.

Helena 6 @ Badlands 5 - It seemed as if the Helena Bighorns would cruise to victory over the Badlands Sabres on Saturday night. However, the hosting Sabres put up quite the fight to make the game entertaining for those watching. Helena forward Austin Uecker scored his seventh of the season around two minutes into the game as the Bighorns built a 5-1 lead heading into the third period. The Sabres scored four goals in the final frame – including two from Zack Vockler to complete a hat trick – to tie the game. However, Caden Fenstein found the back of the net with 22 seconds remaining to give the Bighorns the win.

Gillette 1 @ Bozeman 3 - The Gillette Wild got off to the best start possible in the first period. Forward Chase Hapka scored his sixth goal of the year to give his team a 1-0 lead. The Wild held onto this lead through the second period, as well. However, things came crashing down in the third. Andrew Kaunas scored his eighth goal of the season less than a minute into the third period to tie the game. The Icedogs went on to score another two goals to skate away with a 3-1 win on home ice. Bozeman goaltender Brett DeVincent saved 23 of 24 shots against to help secure the victory for the Icedogs.

Sheridan 7 @ Butte 4 - The final contest on Saturday night saw goals galore. Sheridan and Butte combined for 11 goals on Saturday night. Six of those 11 goals came in the opening period. Josh Serino scored his 11th of the season – and the first of two goals on the night – to help the Hawks race out to a 4-2 lead after one period of play. Serino added his second goal in the second period as Sheridan padded their lead to 7-2 less than four minutes into the third period. The Irish scored twice in the third to pull the game close, but it wasn’t enough. Serino ended the night with four points to power his team to victory on Saturday.
