Tristin May-Robinson and the Woodsmen grabbed three of four points on the weekend

St. Louis 3 @ Peoria 6 - Four point nights from Colton Cox and Wyatt Duke powered the Peoria Mustangs to a weekend split with the St. Louis Jr. Blues, winning Saturday night by a final of 6-3. In the first, two early goals from Cox and Duke staked the Peoria lead at 2-0, but two goals in less than a minute from Eric Denny would level the game once again. Cox and Rex Rhodes would both answer for Peoria, and the high scoring first period would skid into the intermission with a 4-2 Peoria lead. The second would be a physical back and forth battle, but seven saves from St. Louis goaltender Alexander Rivolta and 15 saves from Albert Ancinec for Peoria would keep the game in favor of Peoria heading into the third period. In the third, Nathan Pleva and Duke would both bury goals in the final two minutes. Rece Sanderson would get a late consolation goal for St. Louis, but the comeback would fall short.

Wausau 3 @ Wisconsin 6 - A Brandon Slasor second period hat trick would power the Wisconsin Woodsmen to a 6-3 win over the Wausau Cyclones on Saturday, securing Wisconsin an important three point weekend. The first period would be back and forth, but 10 saves from Tanner Bonjernoor for Wausau and five from Wisconsin goalie Lleyton Jaschke would bring the game into the first intermission scoreless. That would not last for long however, as just 44 seconds into the second, Slasor would bury his first of the night, and then four minutes later, Patrick Bowser would double the lead, and then just before the midway point of the period, Slasor would net his second of the night on the man advantage to give Wisconsin a three goal lead. 48 seconds after, Wausau would come storming back, as Brandon Piwko would cut the lead back to two, and less than two minutes later, a Brady Knutsen power play goal would chop the lead in half, and with just under 90 seconds to go in the period, Chase Chapman would bring the game level, but that would not last for long, as with just 32 seconds to go, Slasor would complete his hat trick to give the Woodsmen a one goal lead after 40 minutes. The theme of early Woodsmen goals would continue, as 20 seconds into the third, a Tristen May-Robinson point blast would double the Woodsmen lead, and then with just over two minutes to go, Johnny Thrasher would seal the game with a empty net, shorthanded goal.
